The invention concerns a method for spraying a coating product using at least one automaton (1) capable of moving at least one sprayer (11) opposite objects to be coated, said automaton bearing a coating product reservoir (10) connected to said sprayer, said reservoir being periodically cleaned and filled with fresh coating product in a cleaning-filling station (20). The invention is characterised in that it consists in supplying said cleaning-filling station by means of product circulation circuits (23), for coating products more frequently used by said sprayer, and in directly supplying said station from product storage reservoirs (40), for the less frequently used products. The installation comprises a unit (21) for changing coating product connected to the coating product supply circuits (23) and provided with means (26) to be removably connected to at least one reservoir (40') among several coating product reservoirs (40).
