The milling blade head (4) is accommodated in a housing (7) held in an adjustment device arranged in the undercarriage frame (13) of the rail vehicle (3) and on which the rail head (6) to be machined is supportable. The housing accommodating the milling blade head penetrates the undercarriage frame with its rail support in a recess. The axis of the milling blade head runs above the undercarriage frame.
