Device and method for stacking batches of paper

In a process and assembly to prepare a stack of large rectangular sheets of paper, a pallet (2) is first placed upon a jack (40)-mounted table (23). The pallet is then raised to the required height and precisely pre- positioned by a fine-positioning to receive the successive sheets of paper.The first one to five sheets of paper is then ejected or released from the supply conveyer (50) and the conveyer halted. The position of the uppermost sheet is then adjusted with respect to the pallet by the fine-positioning, adjustment so that there is a gap between the paper edge and pallet edges.
