[Class 2 (iii)] Heat-stable compositions are prepared from polymers of vinyl chloride by admixing therewith a zinc, lead or alkali metal salt of 2:4 dihydroxyquinoline. Plastizicers, solvents, fillers, pigments and other ingredients may also be present. The compositions may be moulded, or shaped by other means, to produce solid shaped articles. In an example, a mixture of a flocculose substance consisting mainly of polyvinyl chloride made as described in example 1 of Specification 531,078, the sodium salt of 2:4 dihydroxyquinoline and tricresyl phosphate is worked on a roller mill. |
