Controlling the thickness (6,9) of a liquid layer entrained on the surface of an elongated object (1) emerging upwards, essentially vertically, from a bath (2) comprises, at the outlet of the bath, a drying operation by means of waves of liquid under pressure (8,8'). An independent claim is also included for an installation for putting this method of control into service.
