A composition is disclosed that comprises:(A) a thermoplastic resin;(B) a member selected from the group consisting of metallic copper, cobalt, manganese, and salts of the foregoing in contact with said thermoplastic resin; and(C) a stabilizing amount of:(1) a first stabilizer comprising at least one metal dithiocarbamate salt of the structurewhereinM is a divalent, trivalent, or tetravalent metal,X is an integer of from 2 to 4 that equals the valence of M, andthe moietyis the residue of any secondary amine that will react with carbon disulfide to form a dithiocarbamate; and(2) a second stabilizer comprising at least one metal deactivator.
