PURPOSE: Provided is an environmental-friendly ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin pellet, which has excellent injectability into an extruder, extrusion stability and heat stability (long-run characteristics). CONSTITUTION: The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin pellet has no spherical crystals at the central part, when the cut section of the resin pellet is observed with a polarizing microscope under the magnification ratio of 600. The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin pellet may further comprises at least one additive selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acids, boron compounds, phosphorus compounds, alkali metal salts and alkaline earth metal salts. The pellet preferably comprises alkali metal ions in the amount of 0.05 wt% or less expressed in terms of metals.
