ANTIBIOTIC COMPOSITION HAVING ENHANCED BIOAVAILABILITY, PALATABILITY AND ANTIMICROBIAL EFFECT

PURPOSE: A antibiotic composition composed of calcium salts of chlortetracycline, citric acid coated with medium-chain fatty acid and excipients containing Yucca Schidigera extracts is provided. The antibiotic composition has enhanced bioavailability, palatability and antimicrobial effect. CONSTITUTION: The antibiotic composition comprises 1 part by weight of tetracycline-based antibiotics such as calcium salts of chlortetracycline, 0.1 to 0.7 parts by weight of citric acid coated with medium-chain fatty acid and 0.3 to 0.9 parts by weight of excipients containing Yucca Schidigera extracts. The citric acid coated with medium-chain fatty acid comprises 1 part by weight of citric acid and 0.01 to 0.03 part by weight of medium-chain fatty acid. The excipients containing Yucca Schidigera extracts are prepared by absorbing 0.05 to 0.2 parts by weight of Yucca Schidigera extracts into 1 part by weight of excipients.
