The installation is for a sailing or motor boat for exerting a tractive force on a cable or chain for carrying out specific operations with a vessel or the boat, such as weighing an anchor or towing the boat (2) on a trailer. A combination device is used, with a hauling head for the anchor winch (5) and one for the trailer winch (11), drivable with a single motor (6) with a motor shaft (14). This enables individual introduction of an engageable reduction box (12), on the one hand with a hauling head to drive the anchor cable winch and on the other hand a hauling head to drive the anchor cable winch and on the other hand a hauling head for the trailer winch for the trailer chain. Extra strong bearings are incorporated, and for coupling several pin channels (20) are provided on the drive shaft (21), making the installation very compact.
