PURPOSE: A water softener containing silver based antibacterial ceramic balls is provided to obtain water that is safe to the human body and beneficial to health by having functions of water softening, malodor removing and disinfection treatment. CONSTITUTION: In a water softener for softening water as city water is passing through water softening can(10) in which ion exchange resin(20) is filled, the water softener containing silver based antibacterial ceramic balls is characterized in that 3 to 20 wt.% of silver based antibacterial ceramic balls(30) having superior deodorizing and sterilizing effects and size of 1 to 10 mm for 100 wt.% of the ion exchange resin is injected into the water softening can, wherein the silver based antibacterial ceramic balls are injected into an upper part of the ion exchange resin inside the water softening can, and wherein a mixture of the silver based antibacterial ceramic balls and the ion exchange resin is filled in the water softening can.
