PURPOSE: A method for editing a play list in a digital recorder is provided to display thumbnail images of each program within a play list screen, so that a user can conveniently select desired programs, thereby continuously searching/playing the programs. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer outputs/displays a play list screen where thumbnail images corresponding to plural programs, respectively, are included. The microcomputer outputs/displays a pop-up window in order to select/designate the plural programs among play lists. The microcomputer sequentially searches/plays the selected/designated plural programs by using the pop-up window. If a user inputs a play skip key while playing an optional program, the microcomputer searches/plays a next program while stopping a play operation for the currently played program. If the user inputs a play remaining time display key while playing the optional program, the microcomputer outputs/displays a play remaining time from a current time.
