PURPOSE: A tread rubber composition for the tire for a truck and bus is provided, to improve heat resistance, abrasion resistance and tear resistance without deterioration of other properties. CONSTITUTION: The tread rubber composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a rubber; 5-20 parts by weight of silica; and 1.0-5 parts by weight of a polybutadiene rubber adducted with maleic anhydride. Preferably the polybutadiene rubber adducted with maleic anhydride is obtained by adding a polybutadiene resin to maleic anhydride, and the polybutadiene resin has a number average molecular weight of 2,500-8,500 and contains 25-50 % of 1,2-vinyl part.
