PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for fabricating the LCD are provided to prevent liquid crystal and a seal pattern from directly coming into contact with each other. CONSTITUTION: An LCD includes the first and second substrates(51,58), column spacers(53), the first and second auxiliary seal patterns, a main seal pattern(56), and a liquid crystal layer. The column spacers are formed on the first substrate at a specific interval. The first and second auxiliary seal patterns are formed at the marginal portion of the first substrate at a predetermined interval. The main seal pattern is formed between the first and second auxiliary seal patterns. The liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. The column spacers are formed of the same material as the material of the first and second auxiliar seal patterns.
