PURPOSE: A connector having a connection state confirming member and a method for confirming a connection state of the connector are provided to confirm the connection state of the connector. CONSTITUTION: A connector electrically connects electronic components or electronic device related boards. The connector includes a plurality of contact portions. Two contact portions(21,22) among the plurality of contact portions, which are located at both ends of the connector are shorter than the other contact portions. The connector includes a male connector and a female connector combined with the mail connector. The length of contact portions of the male connector, which are located at both ends of the male connector, is shorter than the length of other contact portions of the mail connector. To confirm the connection state of the male connector and the female connector, contact portions of both ends of the female connector connected to the contact portions of both ends of the male connector are electrically connected to each other.
