The present invention depicts a process for fabricating a disposable absorbent article having containment-distribution channels characterized for: feeding an absorbent matrix; providing a film useful as an upper layer of the article. Applying an adhesive to the inner part of the permeable upper layer, joining the upper layer to the absorbent matrix at the upper or lower face thereof. Keeping uniformly joined the permeable upper layer to the absorbent matrix at least in the areas where the channels are going to be embossed. Embossing the fluid containment-distribution channels on the upper layer and absorbent matrix, so as they are embossed preferably in up to 90% of the absorbent matrix thickness and in the upper layer by means of an embossing device that rotates at the same rate as the product; and joining at the opposite face of the absorbent matrix the impermeable lower layer to the disposable absorbent article.
