<p>An illumination optical system has a semiconductor light-emitting device (23), a light beam shaping member (25), and a lens (27). The light beam emitted from the semiconductor light-emitting device (23) is passed through, in order from the semiconductor light-emitting device (23) side, a seventh opening (63), an eighth opening (64), a slit (25a), a second cylindrical portion (73) of a cylindrical member (71), a first cylindrical portion (72), a lens (27), a second opening (53), and a first opening (52) thereby to be shaped into a slit beam generally parallel to a coloring line provided to an immunochromatography test piece (1). The slit beam is applied to a portion of the immunochromatography test piece (1) from a direction generally perpendicular to the test piece (1). A sensing optical system has a semiconductor light-receiving device (33). The semiconductor light-receiving device (33) is disposed generally parallel to the coloring line and diagonally above the illuminated portion of the immunochromatography test piece (1) so as to detect the reflected light reflected diagonally above and generally parallel to the coloring line.</p> |
