<p>A liquid drop ejector in which abnormal ejection of a liquid drop ejection head can be detected by counting the number of reference pulses generated during a specified interval after liquid drop ejecting operation, and a method for detecting abnormal ejection of the liquid drop ejection head. The liquid drop ejector comprises a plurality of liquid drop ejection heads each consisting of a diaphragm and an actuator for displacing the diaphragm, a circuit for driving the actuator, a means for generating a reference pulse, a subtraction counter (45) for counting the reference pulses being generated during a specified interval, and a means for detecting abnormal ejection of liquid drop based on the count of the counter during the specified interval.</p> |
