<p>A can lid structure, with an opening tab providing improved practicability, enhanced opening function and improved sanitariness, is disclosed. This can lid structure is preferably used with easy open cans with onetouch type opening means, or with a socalled stayon tab. In the above can lid structure, an opening tab (30), locked to a can lid using a rivet (24), is levered up by a user so as to break the seal of an opening piece (22) along a depressed seam (21) on the can lid when it is necessary to open the lid prior to emptying a can (10). In order to open the can lid, the free end portion (31) of the tab 30 is primarily raised up from the top surface (20) of the can lid while forming an appropriate gap between the tab (30) and the can lid by pressing the tab (30) downwardly by a finger. The tab (30) is, thereafter, levered up to break the seal of the opening piece (22) along the depressed seam (21). The above object is accomplished by a thumb pushing part (36), a thumboperable resilient bulge (33), andor a depressed linear portion (38) in the form of a groove, respectively formed on predetermined positions of the tab (30). This can lid structure thus accomplishes a desired sanitariness, operational convenience and operational reliability of cans (10).</p> |
