USE OF PGRP, LRRP AND CTL PROTEINS TO TRIGGER AN ANTI-PLASMODIUM IMMUNE RESPONSE IN ANOPHELES SPECIES |
摘要 |

The present invention relates to the prevention of transmission of malaria through the mosquito by modulating the vector innate immune responses to Plasmodium. It focuses on the use of Pattern Recognition Receptors (PRRS) of the gene families encoding Peptidoglycan Recognition Proteins (PGRPs), Leucine-rich repeat proteins (LRRPs) and C type lectins (CTLs) as candidate molecules to render mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles, in particular Anopheles gambiae, more hostile to Plasmodium survival and development. In particular the present invention relates to uses of PGRPs, LRRPs and CTLs, to a method for making mosquitoes refractory and to a refractory mosquito produced by this method.
|
