METHOD FOR GENERATING VERBOSE HARDWARE IDENTIFICATION TO CONTROL SOFTWARE USE ON COMPUTER SYSTEM DEPENDING ON HARDWARE CHANGES

PURPOSE: A method for generating a VHWID(Verbose HardWare ID) to control software use on a computer system depending on hardware changes is provided to allow a legal software user to upgrade the computer system, and minimize or prevent software piracy and illegal use of software escaping license. CONSTITUTION: Component classes are selected(401). All component instances within the component classes are identified(402). The Hash results including the Hash results for each component instance and at least one Hash result for the component classes are generated. A Hash area for generating the VHWID for the first computer system is formed by concatenating the Hash results(405).
