The method involves introducing a load handling equipment e.g. pallet truck, to an interior of a cleaning enclosure (5). The equipment is raised up to a predetermined height to arrange a free space between the equipment and a deck of the cleaning enclosure. Nozzle type cleaning units with outlets are moved in the free space for cleaning the equipment. An independent claim is also included for an installation for cleaning a load handling equipment.
