SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NAVIGATING GUI ON SMALL DISPLAY OF HANDHELD COMPUTING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A system and a method for navigating a GUI(Graphic User Interface) on a small display of a handheld computing device are provided to efficiently navigate the GUI on the small display of a handheld computing device by using a virtual desktop. CONSTITUTION: All or a part of virtual desktop(320) is displayed on the small display(28). A map pane(360) including an inner frame(370) is displayed on a part of the virtual desktop. Opacity of the map pane is increased by responding to detection on the map pane. The virtual desktop is panned by responding to the detection of a cursor(380) dragging the inner frame on the map pane.
