PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal display device is provided to simplify a circuit block and reduce the area of the circuit block when developing a timing controller. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal display device includes a timing controller, a gate driving unit and a control signal transmission line. The gate driving unit is provided with a shift register and an output circuit. And, the control signal transmission line transmits a data carry signal enabling the shift register and an output control signal controlling the data output by the output circuit by using one signal line.
