PURPOSE: An image signal processing apparatus and an image display apparatus and its method are provided which provide high image quality with low cost. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(1) has a scan line and a modulation line and a display device driven through the scan line and the modulation line. A scan circuit(2) selects a plurality of scan lines at the same time and supplies a scan signal to the scan line. A modulation circuit(3) supplies a modulation signal to the modulation line. A filter unit(8) performs signal processing of input image data to compensate resolution degradation and supplies generated image data to the modulation circuit.
