FIELD: manufacture of welded articles of low-carbon, low-alloy and plain steels. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of HF - welding; cooling welded joint in air directly after welding until temperature in range (Ac1 + 25) - (Ac1-75) C; further heating it by 100- 200 C and finally cooling in air. ^ EFFECT: improved strength of welded joint almost equal to that of initial material, high ductility of joint due to elimination of flaws in material structure. ^ 2 tbl
