PURPOSE: A filter for a washing machine is provided to smoothly flow in water regardless of the rotational direction of a pulsator or water level and to effectively remove foreign materials contained in the water. CONSTITUTION: A filter for a washing machine is composed of drain ports(1) formed on the front side of a case and attached with a filtering net(2) in the rear side; water inlet ports(3,4) continuously arranged at both lateral sides of the case; and counter-current preventing screens(5) attached to the rear sides of the water inlet ports and elastically deformed by water pressure applied from the front side to open the water inlet ports. Inclined surfaces(10A,10B) are formed by expanding the rear side of the case than the front side to prevent the laundry from being hung to the side of the case or excessive frictional force during a washing operation. |
