[Also in Division F1] Outlet ports 8, Fig. 2, in a plate 6, Fig. 1, located between a compressor cylinder 1 and the cylinder head 3 are controlled by a lamina 9 on the upper side of the plate 6, and inlet ports 7 in said plate 6 are controlled by an annular lamina 14 secured to the underside of the plate 6 by bolts 10 passing through apertures in peripherally spaced lugs 17, 18 of lamina 14 and which extend beyond the cylinder bore 2. A nose 15 on lamina 14 projects into a recess 16 in the cylinder wall so as to limit downward deflection of 14. The outlet valve lamina 9 is of elongated shape and is freely held at its ends by the bolts 10 which serve as guides and is surmounted by a bowed spring- biased guard plate 11.</p> |
