A predetermined region of a powder layer (10) is irradiated with a light beam to form a new powder layer laminated to the surface of a sintered layer (11) which has been sintered, and a predetermined region of this new powder layer is irradiated with a light beam for sintering, thereby forming a new sintered layer united with the underlying sintered layer; this process is repeated to produce a three dimensional structure. Further, part of the sintered layer above the predetermined level will be removed as the need arises; therefore, an abnormal sintered portion produced in the sintered layer can be removed, preventing stoppage of shaping due to generation of an abnormal sintered portion.
