VIRUS-ADSORBING PROTEIN AND USE THEREOF

It is intended to develop a method of specifically and strongly adsorbing and removing a pathogenic virus in water. This object is achieved by providing a protein having a virus-adsorption activity, preferably, a protein having an affinity for capsid protein VP1 of the virus, in particular, the following protein (a) or (b): (a) a protein comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1; (b) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 by deletion, substitution or addition of one to several amino acids and having a virus-adsorption activity; a DNA encoding the protein; and use thereof, in particular, a method of specifically and strongly adsorbing and removing a pathogenic virus in water by using the above protein.
