MULTIWAVELENGTH PUMPED RAMAN AMPLIFIER CONTROLLER, CONTROL METHOD, AND ITS CONTROL PROGRAM

Two propagation equations corresponding to a signal light and a pumping light in a system of a simple Raman amplifier are simplified. Differential equations are derived considering that the state of the power is changed to another state and are represented in vector form so as to define tow matrix arithmetic expressions. For the calculation of the matrix arithmetic expressions, the optical transmission path is divided into n small sections. In a small section, the term representing the power of the signal light at a place (z) is approximated to a constant. By determining two among the signal light input variation, pumping light input variation, signal light output variation, and pumping light output variation, the differential equations can be solved by linear operation of matrices, and the other two can be automatically determined. The invention can be applied to designing and control of a Raman amplifier.
