The unit (1) has a linking transversal panel (3) connecting upper sides of 2 lateral, vertical panels (2) to form a frame, and a mobile space module (6) inside the frame. The module has a base (7) and an upper plate (8) connected by 2 vertical sides (9) extending over the vertical panels height. The module is moved in lateral translation within the frame, to create 2 variable spaces (V1, V2) located on either side of the module. The two spaces (V1, V2) extend between the panels (2) of the frame and the vertical sides of the module for storage.
