The filter to retain solid particles in liquid samples for analysis is a cylindrical tube (1) with closures of different types at the ends. The lower closure (4) is locked in place by a disk (2) with a hole (3) under a synthetic foam dish (5) or glass wool, covered by a mass of glass felt (6). The mass is under pressure from a flat disk (7) with a passage (8) through it, and held in place by a pinch (14) in the tube. A filter material (9) is over the disk, without pressure, under a filter dish (10) without compression and with a hole (11) partially through it. The filter structure in the tube is held in place by the upper closure (12) where the upper rim is bent over (13).
