PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME, CONCERNED WITH INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF DISCHARGE

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to expand the positive column by generating the discharge between the scan electrode and the address electrode, thereby increasing the efficiency of the discharge. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel includes a scan electrode(Y), a sustain electrodes(Z) and an address electrode. The scan electrode(Y) and the sustain electrode(Z) are formed on the upper substrate in parallel. The address electrode is formed on the lower substrate in a direction crossing with the scan electrode(Y) and the sustain electrode(Z). And, the plasma display panel is characterized in that the distance between the scan electrode(Y) and the sustain electrode(Z) is set wider than the distance between the scan electrode(Y) and the address electrode.
