PURPOSE: A fan and compressor blade dovetail restoration process are provided to restore a blade to an operation state by Physical Vapor Deposition of a parent metal to a corroded or worn blade dovetail. CONSTITUTION: A fan and compressor blade dovetail restoration process as a method for restoring a blade dovetail(23) to the original shape comprises steps of removing a broken material from a broken portion of the blade dovetail; physically depositing metal of quantity sufficient to replace the removed broken material on the broken portion; and machining the dovetail in the original shape. The fan and compressor blade dovetail restoration process further comprises a step of coating the surface of the machined dovetail with a wear-preventing material(21).
