[Class 120 (iii)] [Also in Groups V, VIII and XXXVI] Yarns of cotton or silk may be coated with material comprising synthetic linear polyamide, e.g. polydecamethylene adipamide or sebacamide, polym-phenlyene sebacamide, 6-aminocaproic acid polymer, 12 aminostearic acid polymer or other polyamides and interpolyamides of the type mentioned in Specification 461,236 [Group IV], and U.S.A. Specification 2,130,948, or polyesters, polyacetals, polyester-amides,polyurethanes,polythioureas, polymeric ethylene, unsymmetrical dichloroethylene interpolymers, vinyl resins, polymeric methyl methacrylate esters, or cellulose derivatives such as ethyl or benzyl cellulose. To the coating materials may be added plasticisers, dyes, pigments, antioxidants, viscosity stabilisers and phenol-formaldehyde or other resins. The antioxidants and plasticizers may be precoated on the core, as by application from solution.
