SUCTION VALVE APPARATUS OF RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR MAINLY CONCERNED WITH PREVENTING FATIGUE FAILURE OF SUCTION VALVE

PURPOSE: A suction valve apparatus of a reciprocating compressor is provided to prevent fatigue failure of the suction valve by opening and shutting suction ports by simultaneous lifting and rotating motions of the suction valve and reduce dead volume. CONSTITUTION: A suction valve assembly(143) is formed of a valve stopper(145) and a suction valve(146). The valve stopper is inserted into a suction passage of a front end side of a piston(142) linearly moving in a cylinder. The suction valve is rotatively combined with one side of the valve stopper for rotatively opening and shutting a suction port(145a), having an asymmetrical cross-section. If the piston moves in a compressing direction, the suction valve is pressurized by refrigerant gas of high pressure compressed in the cylinder for shutting the suction port of the valve stopper to prevent inflow of the refrigerant gas. If the piston moves in an expanding direction, the refrigerant gas sucked in by difference in pressures between the compression space and the suction passage of the piston pressurizes the suction valve toward the compression space. The pressurized suction valve is lifted from the valve stopper and rotated to open the suction ports. The refrigerant gas is moved into the compression space.
