METHOD FOR MANAGING COMPUTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set suitable computer operating information to each computer by defining suitable correspondence between the physical position of an enclosure for storing computers and the computers to be installed. SOLUTION: The enclosure storing computers is provided with a device for outputting enclosure ID which is inherent ID outputted from the enclosure and computer ID indicating the position of each computer in the enclosure to the corresponding stored computer. The computer arranged in the enclosure transmits the enclosure ID and the computer ID outputted from the enclosure to management software by using position management information indicating its storing position in a rack of the enclosure and an arrangement position of the rack on a floor, so that computer management specifying the position of the computer to be managed and using ID which is not changed even when computers are substituted can be performed.
