PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the characteristic of a portion (what is called linearity) expressible substantially by a first-order straight line in a relation (characteristic diagram) between the flow of a fluid and the rotating speed of an axial-flow rotary impeller of a flow sensor. SOLUTION: With respect to a vane 21 of a conventional axial-flow rotary impeller 20, its wall thickness D on the support shaft 19 side has been equal to its wall thickness E on the hollow columnar casing 50 side (having a relation D≈E). A vane 26 is provided wherein its wall thickness D on the support shaft 19 side is made thinner and its wall thickness E on the columnar casing 50 side is made thicker so that the shape of the vane is substantially trapezoidal (having a relation D < E, not including the conventional D≈E relation).
