PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-belt type continuously variable transmission for an engine capable of preventing temperature rise or generation of metal dust by sliding or friction of parts to each other. SOLUTION: By a partition wall 21a to part a crank chamber A and a belt chamber C, a crankshaft (input shaft) 6 and an output shaft 25 are journaled, a drive pulley 51 and a driven pulley 52 are respectively installed on the crankshaft 6 and a part of the output shaft 25 inside the belt chamber C, and the pulleys 51 and 52 are connected by a V-belt 53 in this V-belt type continuously variable transmission for an engine. A cam type torque damper 71 is disposed to be coaxial with the output shaft 25 at a part of the output shaft 25 in the crank chamber A, and lubricating oil is supplied to the torque damper 71.
