PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the capability of connection to the Internet in a station within a WLAN, and to enhance the efficiency of transmission between stations. SOLUTION: When a wide bandwidth is required during data transmission in an infrastructure mode between stations, a first station 201 transmits a request of high-efficiency transmission mode establishment to second stations 202, 203, 204 and in response to an answer of agreement from the second stations, a frequency that is not used by an access point 205, is selected. Switching to an ad-hoc mode is reported to the access point, and data are directly transmitted between stations. Further, after the end of transmission, recovery of connection is applied from the station to the access point, thereby switching to the original infrastructure mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
