PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high efficiency in relation with a rotary compressor for use in a refrigerator, etc. by reducing heating of a refrigerant and a motor in a sealed container due to heat generation of an electrically-operated compression element. SOLUTION: The sealed container 13 is formed of material which is mainly composed of aluminum of high heat conduction. In this container, a plurality of plate-like radiation fins 15 are integrally formed on an outer periphery of a body section 11 in substantially parallel to an cylindrical axis of the body section 11. Heat generated by the electrically-operated compression element is efficiently transmitted to the radiation fins 15 through the body section 11, and the radiation fins 15 are vibrated by rotation vibrations of the electrically-operated compression element. A highly heat-radiating effect is thus obtained, and high efficiency can be provided by reducing heating of the refrigerant and the motor in the sealed container 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
