PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment for rearing fireflies maintaining water for rearing larvae of the fireflies at weak alkalinity and filtering the water. SOLUTION: The equipment for rearing the fireflies is composed of a water storage region 1 for growing the larvae of the fireflies and a land region 2 for carrying out pupation, oviposition and hatching after landing of the larvae. In the equipment, maintenance of water at the weak alkalinity and filtration of water can be carried out on the basis of sintered soil particles 4 containing a carbonate of an alkali metal or a carbonate of an alkaline earth metal laid in the water storage region 1 or embedded in an inflow passage 11 for the water storage region 1.
