Method wherein data relating to both the vehicle and persons in the vehicle are collected and transferred to a calculation point where the data are evaluated. The drive or control of the vehicle has an associated clock and transmitter, so that when the engine is started a signal per time unit is transmitted to a data transfer unit, that identifies the user with a characteristic number, with the number and time signal transmitted to a calculation point to determine use related costs. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for implementation of the method.
