<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently drive pixels for light emitting display in a light emitting display device actively driven by TFTs. <P>SOLUTION: On a light emitting display panel 10, lots of pixels 10a for light emitting display are arranged in a matrix form, and also pixels 10b for measurement are aligned in a row along one data line. The pixels 10b for measurement are supplied with a constant current by a constant current source 11, and forward voltage VF of an EL element (electro luminescence element) in the pixels 10b for measurement is acquired at a voltage detection terminal 12. Then, based on the forward voltage VF, a driving voltage value to be supplied to the pixels 10a for light emitting display is controlled. Thus, the TFTs (Tr2) configuring the pixels 10a for light emitting display can drive the EL elements E1 in a state in which drop voltage (VD) is kept to such an extent that a constant current characteristic can be kept, and can effectively suppress the power loss generated in the driving TFTs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
