PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the effect of power saving by a simple structure and reduce the volume of an auxiliary power supply. SOLUTION: A main heating element 21a and an auxiliary heating element 21b are provided at the fixing roller 16 with the largest thermal capacity of the fixing device 10. When the fixing device 10 is started up, power is supplied from the main power supply device 31 connected to the commercial power supply to the main heating element 21a and power is supplied from the auxiliary power supply device 32 having a capacitor to the auxiliary heating element 21b, and power of large capacity is supplied to the fixing roller 16 and the temperature of the fixing roller 16 is elevated up to the target temperature in a short time.
