PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively low-priced latch device for a panel capable of improving the crime preventing performance of a cabinet for housing important equipment. SOLUTION: A latch body 3 is movably housed in a case 2 fixed to the panel 1, and the latch body 3 is moved and energized by a spring member 6 for movement in a direction for engaging with a latch receiver part 5 provided in a main body frame 4. A lock pin 8 removably inserted to a holding hole 7 of the case 2 from a rear side of the panel 1 hinders the movement of the latch body 3 to an unlocking position.
