PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit having a high quality and wide dynamic range. SOLUTION: The imaging unit has an imaging means for imaging an object with large light exposure and small light exposure and for outputting a first image signal by imaging with the large light exposure and a second image signal by imaging with the small light exposure at the same pixel position as the first image signal, a decision means for deciding a moving object region and the saturation region of the first image signal on the basis of the first and second image signals and for outputting a decision signal, and an image compositing means for performing image composition by varying ratio occupied by the first and second image signals on the basis of the decision signal.
