PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system which intuitively operates electric equipment located at a distant place. SOLUTION: This monitoring system 100 is provided with a network camera 110 for transmitting video information and a network terminal 120 for receiving the video information through a network 102. The network terminal 120 is provided with an operation signal receiving unit 126 for receiving an operation signal transmitted from a remote controller 103, and a transmitting part 121 for transmitting the operation signal received by the operation signal receiving unit 126. The network camera 110 is provided with a transmitting part 113 for receiving the operation signal transmitted from the transmitting part 121 through the network 102, and an operation signal transmitting part 115 for transmitting the operation signal received by the receiving part 113 to the electric equipment 101.
