PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a vector network analyzer without using a precise known calibration standard. SOLUTION: This invention uses the measurement result of an asymmetric reciprocal device. This invention includes a method for determining the parameter value of a defining parameter in a set of calibration standards. This method comprises substantially minimizing the difference between the corrected measurement normal directional transmission S parameter of the asymmetric reciprocal device and the corrected measurement reverse directional transmission S parameter thereof while adjusting the parameter value of the defining parameter, thereby determining the parameter value of the defining parameter in the set of calibration standards.
