<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small optical functional device which has excellent crosstalk characteristics and of which the yield is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The optical functional device is constructed by branching the main signal light beam inputted from a third optical waveguide 3 into a first optical waveguide 7 and a second optical waveguide 6 through a 3dB optical directional coupler 5. The signal light beam branched is separated for each of wavelengths by an AWG (arrayed-waveguide gratings) consisting of a first slab 8, an array optical waveguide 9 and a second slab 10 and the respective separated signal light beams are outputted to a first array output waveguide group 11 and a second array output waveguide group 12. Subsequently they are reflected by a highly reflecting film 13 and return through the reversed route. When their phases are varied with a thermo-optic phase shifter 14, however, the signal light beam with a wavelength corresponding to the thermo-optic phase shifter 14 is outputted to the fourth waveguide 4 side at the 3dB optical directional coupler 5.
